Huzzah! Microsoft no more!
I’ve moved to the “dark” side, and bought an iMac!
Why?
Because it’s different, beautiful, fast (I’ve bought a nice 3GHz one…), and I’m not interested in slow PC’s any more.
Oh, and to get away from Windows! Because I hate Windows.
The day started off quite nicely. I’d been lusting after an iMac (and the Mac Pro’s for that matter) for a long time, with the itch slowly building up over time, to the point where I could scratch it. Down to the new Apple Shop on George St I went, had a chat to the staff, had my first serious play with the iMac, and wandered around the store for a while.
I was impressed with the architecture of the store itself, and the fact that there were _lots_ of Macs, iPods, and stuff to play with, and that I could actually browse online and see for myself what this website looked like for the first time on a Mac.
Yup, I want one.
This is where the magic Apple experience started to fall over - paying for the Mac was a _pain_. They had problems with the credit card processing, and ended up “losing” the transaction, yet I was charged for the goods. A trip to my bank confirmed I was charged the amount, so back to Apple with the evidence.
In the end, everything was fine. They eventually found the transaction, I was able to go home with my new iMac, and life is good!
Now, all I have to do is learn how to use this shiney new beast :)
